NEWS RELEASE:
On Thursday, July 6, 2000, the Franklin County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a residence located at 60 W. Madison Street, in the Borough of Greencastle. Upon searching the residence, police found heroin, heroin paraphernalia, and handgun ammunition. The search warrant was obtained after police found a stolen handgun at the residence on July 3, 2000. The Franklin County Drug Task Force had also been receiving information regarding drug sales occurring at the residence. As a result of this incident, a 17 year old male juvenile was charged with one count each of Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The Pennsylvania State Police, Chambersburg Police Department, and the Waynesboro Police Department's K-9 Unit assisted the Greencastle Police Department with this incident.
